Jorge Viera joins New York WXTV Univision 41s primetime newscasts

Viera will co-anchor the 11pm newscast alongside Adriana Vargas
Univision Communications Inc. announced that Jorge Viera, Noticiero Univision (Univision News) correspondent, will join New York WXTV Univision 41s primetime newscasts as a reporter effective Monday, September 2, 2013. Beginning Monday, September 16, 2013, he will co-anchor the 11pm newscast alongside Adriana Vargas. Veteran news anchor Rafael Pineda will continue to co-anchor the 6pm newscast and work on special assignments. Viera joins WXTV with more than 15 years of experience in journalism. His career in broadcast television began in 1997 as a correspondent for Telemundo in Los Angeles. We are thrilled to have Jorge join our team. He has been part of the Univision family for many years so he brings with him an outstanding record of news reporting for our audience. His vast experience in journalism will contribute to our commitment to continue to deliver an informative high quality newscast for our viewers in the New York area, said Norma Morato, news director, WXTV Univision 41.
